The beginning of Tabasquishy wasn’t a product. It was just an ordinary evening.

That day, my child and I were making treats together. We placed the dough on the table, kneading and pressing it slowly—pressing down, folding it, and gently pushing it apart. The motions were simple, yet calming.

Suddenly, my child said, “It eats away unhappiness.” I paused, because I was kneading the dough too, repeating the same rhythm of press, release, and rebound. In that moment, I realized it wasn’t just him—I was also slowly relaxing through that texture. Some emotions don’t need to be explained; they just need an outlet.

Later, I realized that what stayed with me wasn’t the treat. It was the dough: soft, kneadable again and again, slowly rebounding, and giving a quiet sense of relief. I started to think—what if this dough could be preserved? Not for any special purpose, just a soft piece to hold anytime, something even children could safely squeeze in their hands.

So I began experimenting. I searched for safer materials, tested different formulas, and adjusted the softness. I wanted it to be gentle, non-irritating to the skin, odorless, and comfortable to hold.

I also worked on the rebound rhythm so that it would feel like a slow, deep breath. Press down, and it releases. Bounce back, and it accepts. Not a sharp rebound, but a natural flow.

Later, to make it more approachable for children, I began giving it different shapes—gentle expressions, rounded forms, and designs that make you want to touch them the moment you see them. Cuteness lowers defenses, and softness encourages expression.

“Tab” means a gentle press.

“Squishy” means a soft rebound.

Tabasquishy is a portable piece of “that dough.” It doesn’t judge. It doesn’t rush. It doesn’t solve your problems. It simply rests quietly in your hand. When you press down, it holds a little for you. When it bounces back, it reminds you that you are still here.

We’re constantly inspired by the people who use our toys. Some of the most meaningful messages we’ve received come from individuals with ADHD who found relief and focus through our squishies. We’re not doctors, but we’re listeners—and these stories have guided us to take action. We’re now working to support ADHD communities through donations and partnerships, because making people feel better goes far beyond a good squeeze.

In addition to our ADHD donation program, we’ve partnered with trusted organizations to contribute to a greener, cleaner world.
