Frequently Asked Questions

Mix Part A and Part B silicone in equal parts (1:1 ratio). Add a few drops of silicone pigment for color and stir thoroughly to avoid streaks. Pour the mixture into the mold, tap gently to release air bubbles, and let it cure at room temperature for 2–3 hours. Once fully set, peel back the mold and demold your squishy. Optional: dust with flocking powder for a velvety texture.
Technically yes, but results vary significantly. DIY methods circulating on TikTok — glitter glue, caulk, paint in molds — don't produce the same slow-rise silicone texture. Most household-ingredient methods result in either non-stretchy solids or sticky messes that don't hold shape. The two-part liquid silicone in TABASQUISHY®'s kit is the same material class used in professional squishies. If you want a result that actually feels like a taba squishy, the kit is the reliable path.
With the TABASQUISHY® silicone formula, cure time is typically 2–3 hours at room temperature (68–77°F / 20–25°C). Cooler environments slow the cure; warmer temperatures speed it. Don't attempt to demold early — the squishy will tear or deform if it hasn't fully set. The finished piece reaches full squish quality after an additional 30 minutes of post-cure rest outside the mold.
Each kit includes: two-part food-grade silicone (Part A + Part B), silicone pigments for coloring, a character mold (shape varies by kit — hamster, chick, star, cat paw, etc.), a mixing cup, mixing sticks, and printed step-by-step instructions. The silicone glue set variant includes the formula without a mold, for users who already own molds. Check each product listing for the exact contents.
Yes. The silicone used in TABASQUISHY®'s DIY kits is the same food-grade, CPC-certified material used in the finished squishies. It is BPA-free, phthalate-free, and non-toxic once fully cured. The mixing process involves liquid silicone — adult supervision is recommended for children under 10 during the pouring and mixing steps. The cured, finished squishy is safe for ages 3+.
Two common causes: under-mixing (Part A and B not fully combined — mix for at least 2 full minutes), or using a mold that's too thin, which doesn't give the silicone enough mass to create the slow-rise rebound. Ensure you fill the mold with no air gaps. Also, check cure time — an under-cured squishy will feel limp and won't spring back properly.
Yes — TABASQUISHY® molds are made from durable silicone and can be reused many times. After demolding, wash the mold with mild soap and warm water, rinse fully, and let it air-dry before the next use. Avoid sharp tools when demolding, as they can nick the mold surface and affect future results. A lightly applied layer of Vaseline before each pour helps with clean release.
A finished squishy is ready to be squeezed immediately and goes through TABASQUISHY®'s quality control. The DIY kit is a creative activity — part craft, part toy — where the making process is the point. You choose the color, add personal details, and end up with something you made yourself. Both use the same food-grade silicone. The kit suits crafters, gift-givers, and anyone who's watched a "how to make a taba squishy" video and actually wants to try.
